Major Dudes return to Otus Supply's Parliament Room for a live-streamed show.
What is "Steely Knives"? Of course, it's a reference to the line in Hotel California - "they stab it with their steely knives" - where the Eagles give a nod to their friendly competition in the late 70s, Steely Dan. So, the boys in Major Dudes and Motown Eagles, a couple of whom play in both bands, decided to refer to any shows where they play together as Steely Knives. There, now you know. We don't get to team up that often, but Road Rangers in Taylor is providing a perfect opportunity for us to do our thing. Hope you can make it. Show starts at 9. Only $10, at the door.
The Dudes return to a great little west side music venue, O'Malley's in lively Livonia.
First time for the Dudes at this great tribute band venue in Romeo. Not a bad drive for some Don't Take Me Alive...and much, much more.
Not ready to put that elaborate Halloween costume away just yet. Why not put on your hats, hooters, hi-heeled sneakers...whatever, and make it down to our fave venue, Otus Supply, in fashionable Ferndale. Steely Dan tunes are actually a bit scary to play - so Halloween appropriate?...sure - but the Dudes are up for it, as you know.
Major Dudes make their first appearance at this great theater and join the ranks of some of the nation's finest tribute bands that appear regularly here.
Make it on down after work to a truly fun place we loved playing back in July. The first time was big but we have room on the patio to go bigger still. Let's say goodbye to summer with style and grace and Steely Dan all over the place.
We're back by popular demand to once again take part in the very popular Rhythmz in Riley Park summer music series in downtown Farmington. A big highlight of our 2018 summer and should be even bigger and better in 2019.
Taylor Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, 22314 Northline Road, Taylor, MI
The Dudes are delighted to deliver the Dan for a second straight year at this fabulous outdoor venue in Taylor. Hello summer.
Major Dudes make their first appearance at the popular Friday night Music in the Air concert series in downtown Plymouth, Michigan. We'll play Steely Dan's biggest hits, a few popular deep cuts and music from a few other great 60s and 70s bands.
We'll try once again to round up the local after work crowd who were left high and dry by the closing of Big Fish. Hopefully, a better break from the weather man this time out.
One of America's finest progressive rock bands, Chicago's District 97, headline this killer show in Allen Park. They'll be playing music from their soon to be released 4th studio album and favorites from their first 3 CDs. This is a rare, and not to be missed appearance in the Detroit area by this great band fronted by American Idol top 10 female finalist Leslie Hunt.
Major Dudes, Michigan's #1 Steely Dan tribute, will be performing the entire Aja album. Perhaps not comfortably fitting in the progressive rock genre, but is it really that much of a stretch? We think not.
Waldon Reed, Jr., Major Dudes guitarist, has 8 CDs under his belt, four of which are of the progressive jazz/rock variety. His set will include select tracks from his critically acclaimed catalog and a few surprises.
We love playing Otus Supply and delighted to be back for a sixth time.
Well, we've officially lost track of just how many times we've played here, but who cares. We do know it's one of our favorite places, playing for and to some of our favorite people.
Round 4 at Andiamo in Dearborn, very quickly becoming a favorite, steady stomping ground for the Dudes. Polar vortexes be damned, come on out. Steely Dan music will make you think about summer.
Back for a third time at this Dearborn establishment. A great, central location with great food and drink, and on this particular night, a quite appealing and eminently listenable group of Dudes providing stellar renditions of your favorite Steely Dan tunes.
Hello, Ann Arbor. Major Dudes have been dying to meet you. We'll be spreading some pre-holiday Steely Dan cheer, bringing all the hits, choice deep cuts, and the entire Aja album for your listening pleasure. Doors open at 8PM, show time 9PM. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 the day of at the door.
With apologies to Marlon Brando for the event name, the Dudes are delighted to play once again in what we consider home base, that being the Downriver area. Shop, and then drop...in at the Waterfront. Steely Dan music awaits.
The Dudes bring it indoors with summer in the rear view mirror. No worries. Steely Dan music will warm your innards and we'll throw in a few other treats along the way. Great central location for our south of 8 Mile fans. Do come!
Major Dudes take part in a 9 week series of great Detroit area tribute bands.
